The scientific program at the COMP Annual Scientific Meeting was structured to offer attendees a rich and varied experience across the four days in Banff. Mornings began with coffee and refreshments in the exhibit hall, where delegates could browse sponsor booths and connect with colleagues before sessions commenced. Scientific sessions, continuing education offerings, and committee meetings were interwoven throughout the schedule, giving participants opportunities to deepen their knowledge while also contributing to the governance of the organization. Social events, including the ice breaker reception and the banquet, punctuated the week, providing a relaxed counterpoint to the formal proceedings and allowing the community to gather in celebration of shared professional purpose.
The Highlights session stood as a centerpiece of the program, showcasing the top abstracts submitted by authors ahead of the conference. These presentations were carefully judged by a panel, and the winning talk was recognized during the Friday evening banquet, adding an element of friendly competition and recognition to the meeting. Beyond the formal sessions, the schedule allowed time for informal conversation, networking, and even outdoor activity, with the natural beauty of Banff National Park serving as a memorable backdrop. Delegates traveled to and from the venue with coordinated bus transportation, and the overall flow of the program was designed to balance scientific rigor with the warmth and conviviality that define the Canadian medical physics community.
